How yorkpropictures Started!
Sammy is a composed and creative photographer known for capturing raw, emotional moments and building genuine relationships with her clients through the lens.
She began her journey in Toronto, Ontario, and has since established herself in Kitchener-Waterloo, specializing in sports photography. Her work spans major leagues including the OHL, CPL, and NHL. With a background as a soccer player, Sammy brings a natural understanding of athletic movement and a deep love for the game, allowing her to freeze powerful moments that evoke nostalgia and emotion.
Driven by a passion for both travel and storytelling, Sammy finds inspiration city to city—whether she's capturing life underwater or atop the highest mountain. Her lens has followed her through diverse environments, always seeking truth, beauty, and human connection.
She has collaborated with top models, elite athletes, and influential creators, each experience expanding her vision and pushing the limits of her creativity. Sammy proudly shoots with Canon gear, which has been an integral part of her journey. From model to artist to athlete, she values the realness in her subjects, forging connections that go beyond the frame.
Her signature style is sharp, bold, and unapologetically real—often breaking the rules of traditional photography to express her unique voice.
Sammy's goal is to produce work that resonates deeply, inspires emotion, and leaves behind timeless visual stories.
Sammy began her journey at 17, when she realized she wanted to show people how she sees others—and the world—through her lens.
With the influence and encouragement of those around her, she began modelling to understand how the right photo can make someone feel. From that moment on, she was hooked. “Everyone deserves to be shown their beauty through a lens, and I think everyone should experience that,” Sammy says.
Knowing she could give that feeling to others, she left her hometown to study film and photography, determined to elevate her craft. Along the way, she created opportunities for herself, placing herself in spaces that challenged her, inspired her, and helped her grow.
Sammy had a clear vision—and she never stopped until she became known for her images.
